G2 Esports, Team Liquid and FunPlus Phoenix among qualifier participants. Which teams will make it into the top 8 and advance to Challengers? It’s time! The VALORANT Champions Tour begins for EU with the very first Qualifier on Thursday and Friday! We are excited to see many top-class teams taking a shot at qualifying for the most prestigious tournament series in VALORANT.

Up to 512 teams can participate in these Qualifiers which seek to determine eight squads that will compete in the European Play-Ins on Saturday and Sunday, 6 and 7 February. Among the participants are many notable entries that promise a thrilling competition.

Big names enter the competition

VCT is going to be the most important series in VALORANT esports. Therefore, it is little surprising that we see some of the best teams enter the competition. G2 Esports, Europe's most dominant team in League of Legends, is also considered one of the top favourites in VALORANT. They are joined by the Spanish organisation Team Heretics, which has displayed excellent performances.

Other notable entries include the British line-up of Team Liquid, Ninjas in Pyjamas and the German organization BIG. If you want to have a look at the full list of Qualifier entries, you can check out the full participants list.

Finding the Top 8

The VALORANT Champions Tour offers an open format in which any team can rise to the top – if they are good enough! Any team which consists of at least five players can take part and qualify for the Play-Ins. The Challengers are weekend tournaments that feature the best teams from the Qualifiers.

The first of three Challengers weekends, i.e. the Play-In, extends an invitation to the second event for the top 4 finishers. However, in the Playoffs on the second and third weekend of VALORANT Challengers, there is going to be much more on the line: the top 4 will advance to the first Regional Masters which takes place 12-15 March. The bottom 4 have the chance to play the next qualifier of the stage as well. This regional final will not only award prize money but also points for the Champions Tour.
